Your safety & rights

Worker screening
Aged care worker screening in line with requirements.
Ongoing training
Regular training in recognising and preventing abuse and neglect.
Supervision & culture
Support, supervision and a strong culture of speaking up.
Clear procedures
Defined steps for reporting and responding to concerns.
Harm can take many forms. We help our team and families recognise the signs.
Any physical harm, rough handling or unlawful restraint.
Intimidation, humiliation, isolation or controlling behaviour.
Misuse of a person's money, assets or property.
Any non-consensual or inappropriate sexual behaviour.
Failing to provide the care and support a person needs.
Restrictions used other than as a genuine, lawful last resort.
We act first to protect the person from harm.
We report through the right channels without delay.
We look into it thoroughly and take action.
We support anyone affected with care and respect.
We review what happened to prevent it recurring.
We take our obligations seriously, including under the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS), and work with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and, where relevant, the police.
