Your safety & rights

Client rights & responsibilities

Your rights as a person receiving care — reflecting the Charter of Aged Care Rights — and how we work together.

You have the right to safe, respectful, high-quality care that supports your independence, identity and choices. We support these rights in everyday practice — and explain them in English or Greek.

Care and services that are safe and right for you.

To be treated with dignity, respect and kindness.

  • Identity & culture

  • Freedom from harm

To live without abuse, neglect or exploitation.

  • Information you understand

To be told about your care in a way that makes sense to you.

  • Choice & control

To make decisions about your own care and to take personal risks.

  • Privacy

To have your personal information respected and kept confidential.

  • An advocate & supports

To have people of your choice, including an advocate, involved.

  • To complain freely

To raise concerns without fear, and be listened to and understood.

  • To stay connected

To have visitors and remain part of your community.

Working together — your part
